🌙 Broom Mates (just passing through)

There’s something very suspicious about how quickly a “quick sketch” turns into something else entirely.
This one started quietly… just a witch and her familiar, keeping each other company.
Nothing dramatic. Just… travelling together.
Which, in hindsight, was probably the beginning of the problem. 😅
I sat down with a cup of tea and meant to draw something simple.
Just a few lines. A small moment.
But somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like something I was drawing… and more like something I’d come across.

A witch and her familiar, mid-flight.
Not rushing. Not performing. Just… going somewhere together.
There’s something comforting about that, I think.
Not being alone… even when you’re not entirely sure where you’re headed.
They don’t feel dramatic.
They don’t feel powerful in any obvious way.
But they feel steady.
Like the kind of pair who:
-> always end up where they need to be
-> don’t need to explain themselves
-> and quietly share responsibility for whatever chaos follows
Which feels like a fair arrangement?
There’s a strange shift when something leaves the sketchbook.
It stops being just yours… and becomes something that can sit quietly in someone else’s life too.

Seeing them on a hoodie felt right.
Like they were meant to move.
Like they were never meant to stay on the page.
If you’d like to have a closer look, they’ve found their way into the shop here:
No pressure… just leaving them here in case they feel like your kind of company.
This was meant to be a quick sketch.
It wasn’t.
But then again… I don’t think anything involving a witch and her familiar ever really is.
Blame the moon 🌙😉💕
